César Montes: I'm really excited to join this ambitious project

César Montes, a Mexican central defender, has closed the transfer window chapter at UD Almería. The newest recruit has been officially presented as a new Rojiblanco player by Club Managing Director Mohamed El Assy, who welcomed him and wished him the best of luck in this professional journey.

 

'I'm very happy to join this Club and I really appreciate the trust they have placed in me and the effort they have made to complete my signing,' said the Mexico international, who also stressed: 'I'm really excited to join this ambitious project.'

 

César Montes has become the most expensive signing in the history of UD Almería. 'It entails a greater responsibility and I'll make a huge effort to meet collective and individual goals. I'll try to give it my all to adapt quickly and be ready when the head coach needs me,' the 26-year-old player stated.

 

The latest UD Almería addition describes himself as a footballer 'with a good passing and with character on the pitch,' although he can contribute much more to UD Almería. He moves from RCD Espanyol de Barcelona, a top-tier side that he signed for in last season's winter transfer window. In half the season, he was a regular starter featuring in 22 games and registering 3 goals. 'My adaptation in Barcelona was rather quick and I truly hope that now, here in Almería, the same thing happens.' 

 

The Hermosillo native, whose role model is his compatriot Rafa Márquez, is raring to put in his best performance to contribute as much as possible to the UD Almeria senior team. 'I hope that my performance as a Rojiblanco is worth it to continue being a Mexico international,' he concluded in the press conference of his official presentation.
