UD Almería will take on Al-Sadd SC in pre-season friendly

The match against the award-winning Qatari team will be played on 28th July at La Quinta Football Center during the boot camp in Málaga. Former Real Valladolid CF player Gonzalo Plata and Rafa Mujica are in the opponents' squad

Al-Sadd SC, the most successful team in Qatari football and one of the most prestigious from Asia will also be UD Almería's rivals during the pre-season. The friendly will be played at 7pm (Spanish Time) on Sunday, 28th July 28 at La Quinta Football Center in Marbella during the boot camp.

Before this game against the first-tier team from Qatar, the Rojiblancos will visit FC Cartagena to compete in the Carabela Silver Trophy and now the friendly that will be played against the Doha club has just been confirmed. The Qataris are a team with enormous potential that has numerous international players in its ranks such as former Real Valladolid CF Gonzalo Plata, who is going to fulfill his second season in Qatar and the Gran Canaria  striker Rafa Mujica, who has been signed by Portuguese side FC Arouca for €10m euros. In the previous campaign, Wesam Rizik was the head coach although now there is speculation about the arrival of Spaniard Félix Sánchez Bas after leaving the Ecuadorian national team after being eliminated in the America Cup.

He is not the first Spanish head coach at Al-Sadd SC since they had previously been coached by Javi Gracia, Juan Manuel Lillo, and Xavi Hernández. The former FC Barcelona gaffer was a player for the Qatari team, where Raúl González and Romario also played.

The friendly match between UD Almería and Al-Sadd SC will be one of those played during the training camp at the La Quinta resort, a complex located next to Marbella Football Center, which will also be used by the Indálicos.

The UD Almeria travelling squad commence this training camp on 23rd July and return to Almería on 1st August.
