UD Almeria complete their team with the latest signing of Francis Guerrero
UD Almeria have agreed a deal to sign the 23-year-old versatile player who is able to play as a left-back, right-back and winger.
The January transfer window is nearly shut and the Second Division clubs have just a few hours left to conduct their mid-season spending. Francis Guerrero becomes the 6th signing of the UD Almería after the hiring of the keeper Sivera, the centre-back David Costas, the two midfielders Kaptoum and Fran Villalba, and the striker Iván Barbero. With this new signing, the club completes their side for the 2019-20 season.
Almeria have signed Francis Guerrero on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy the versatile player. The 23-year-old arrives from Real Betis Balompié. Francis, who will be wearing the number 2 shirt will be able to play in different positions. His best position to play is right-back, but the malagueño can also get deployed on either side of the pitch as a left-back, right-winger and left-winger.
The new UD Almeria player, who has been under-21 international, has made a total of 28 appearances with Betis last season: LaLiga Santander (22), Copa del Rey (5) and Europe League (1). In the previous club he was lined-up 14 times. Lately, he has not been playing as much as he wanted and that is the reason why he decided to look for a new destination. With Quique Setién, the current FC Barcelona’s head coach, he had greater continuity in Betis playing both as a right-back and as a wing-back.
Francisco Javier Guerrero Martín was born on 11th March 1996 in Coín (Málaga). Francis joined Real Betis' youth setup in 2014 from Puerto Malagueño CF, and soon he pursued his career and went up to the Betico B-team and first team. He has played for Real Betis Balompié since the 2017-18 season until now.
