UD Almería 'B' ready for play-off 'lottery

After almost a month more of competition than the rest of the teams in their respective groups, the promotion-chasing UD Almería 'B' players and the Verdes will face each other at 7pm on Sunday

UD Almería 'B' take on CD Toledo at 7pm local time this Sunday at the 'Salto del Caballo' stadium in the grand final 'lottery' for promotion to Segunda RFEF. Both outfits finished the regular season at the end of May and almost a month later, they are still looking to move up a tier. One of the two will be left without a prize and will have to continue one more year in the Tercera RFEF, something that, as both head coaches already said: 'It's a shame after the work we've done.'

The slick UDA Academy youth team will go into this match in great form, with very clear ideas and with many training sessions behind them that have been bearing fruit until reaching the grand final. UD Almería 'B' are undefeated throughout the entire play-offs. They have played five games in which they have recorded 3 victories and 2 draws.

Really good numbers that have placed Alberto Lasarte's side more than deservedly in the final for promotion. It will not be easy at all since CD Toledo already demonstrated in the first leg their status as a veteran and experienced team. The Castilian-Manchegos have played in competitions such as the Spanish Cup and have been in Segunda. Tough rivals indeed.

UD Almería 'B' will travel to Toledo city on Saturday to get together and spend the night to be fully prepared for the grand final the next day. Neither of the two teams has an advantage, so both start from that one-all tie  obtained in the first leg, what means that if at the end of the full 90 minutes the teams are still level, there will be extra time and penalties.

The Toledo pitch will be the formidable setting where experience and youth will be displayed in the last battle of the 2023/24 season after a hectic and fruitful season. Who will earn promotion?
