UD Almería 'B' celebrated promotion in Toledo

The final whistle at the 'Salto del Caballo' stadium sparked a wave of euphoria after achieving promotion to Segunda RFEF. 300 UD Almería travelling fans joined the big party

No wonder. The final whistle at the 'Salto del Caballo' stadium in Toledo sparked a wave of euphoria since UD Almería 'B', after a long season, reached promotion to Segunda RFEF. The youthful Rojiblancos jumped for joy, hugged each other and celebrated the achievement with the around 300 UD Almería travelling fans who were rooting for them. They were family members and fans who had travelled to Toledo city and joined the party on the pitch. Needless to say, with the utmost respect for the rivals and their home fans, who little by little were leaving with desolation and recognising the superiority of a team 'Made in Almería,' the slogan that has prevailed over these play-offs.

It has been an absolutely demanding, long campaign, which kicked off in September 2024 with the regular season within Group IX of the Tercera RFEF. UD Almeria 'B' were the top scorers with 75 goals and one of the teams with the fewest conceded. They finished 4th in the standings and made it to the play-offs, which was the first objective.

Throughout the season, they were among the best outfits in the Group. Atlético Malagueño were the first opponents in the promotion play-offs, and the unstoppable Indálicos won both the first leg and the second leg. Then, Real Jaén CF were defeated and finally, CD Toledo, two historic clubs meant to be promoted. Against the Jienenses, a draw at the Power Horse Stadium and a victory in La Victoria; against the boys from Toledo, the same, so it is a great achievement indeed.

UD Almería 'B' had to play a total of 40 games, 34 league fixtures and 6 play-off ties to reach the fourth-tier Segunda RFEF, which is now a reality.
