Maximiano will put on the gloves at UD Almería until 2029

The Club has activated the option-to-buy clause in his contract. The Portuguese goalkeeper was on loan from SS Lazio and now he puts pen-to-paper on a five-year deal

Goalkeeper Luis Maximiano will remain the next 2024/25 season at UD Almería once the Club has activated the option-to-buy clause in his loan deal. The next step has been to agree with him on the conditions of his new contract that extends until June 2029, so he will spend the five next campaigns in Almería.

The 25-year-old Portuguese keeper arrived last summer on loan from Italian Serie A side SS Lazio and with very few training sessions performed, he was already lined up on Matchday 2 against Real Madrid CF. He soon settled in and adapted to his new Club and LaLiga EA Sports as he demonstrated his great footballing qualities between the sticks after putting in really brilliant performances. In fact, he was awarded the MVP in several fixtures.

The Lusitanian has featured as starter in 33 league matches, while team-mates Fernando Martínez played 4 and Diego Mariño 1.
