Marc Pubill preselected with Spain for Olympic Games in Paris
The UD Almería player has received the call-up from national coach Santi Denia to be part of the preparations for the tournament that will be played in July and August
UD Almería player Marc Pubill is in luck since the versatile Rojiblanco right-back has been included in the Spanish team's pre-list to compete in the Paris Olympic Games next July. In total, 22 players have been called up by national coach Santi Denia. Four of them will be left off the final squad.
The 22 players preselected by Santi Denia will get together on 1st July at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas, Madrid. Over these weeks, the national team will be gearing up for the Olympic event, where the main objective is to win the gold medal. The Spanish National Team gaffer will decide those days the four players who will be ruled out. 'This week is going to be key. The word versatility becomes vital,' says Mr Denia.
The Spanish Olympic team will travel to Bordeaux on 18th July to face the United States team in a friendly. This international meeting will serve as final preparation before the competition, and by then the 18 players who will be part of the official travelling Spanish squad will have chosen.
