Jessi and Paqui Campoy take 3rd place in European beach soccer tournament

They lost to Portugal in the semi-finals (4-3) and beat Italy in the final (2-1). The two UD Almería Women players have already rejoined their team-mates in Almería and will be available for the next league match

UD Almería Women players Jessi and Paqui Campoy have taken third place with the Spanish beach soccer team in the European championship whose final stage was held on the Italian island of Sardinia. Previously, they qualified in a tournament in Portuguese city Nazaré, in which Paqui Campoy was the top scorer. It was her first participation with the Spanish team, while Jessi has won every competition with the national team including a World Cup.

The Spaniards lost 4-3 to Portugal in the semis and in the final they faced hosts Italy, whom they beat 2-1, with the match-winning goal scored by Jessi.

The two UD Almería Women players have already rejoined their team-mates in Almería and they are highly likely to be available for the next Tercera RFEF Group V match, in which they will play hosts to Cádiz CF Women.

Both Jessi and Paqui Campoy have been absent in the first two fixtures due to international duty with the senior Spanish beach soccer team. These absences have been notable for the Indálicas.
