Garitano: "This Spanish Cup exit is a very hard blow"

The UD Almería head coach complained about the toughness of the opponents, but recognised that UD Barbastro have been fair winners

Gaizka Garitano made it clear after the Copa del Rey second-round tie: 'This Spanish Cup exit is a very hard blow because we've given our all and then on the pitch, we've not succeeded.' The UD Almería head coach also recognised: 'UD Barbastro have been fair winners and deserved getting through to the next round.'

'There have been three or four red card tackles that haven't been awarded,' Mr Garitano continued. 'We were obliged to win; we're belong to a higher tier and we haven't demonstrated it at any time,' he added.

The Basque Country native argued: 'We've seen all of UD Barbastro's games, we knew the players, we knew what type of match we were going to face, but we didn't know how to impose ourselves and they've clearly outplayed us.'
