Garitano: "The team were class despite being down to 10 men and we came closest to winning."

The UD Almería head coach recognises the huge effort of his players playing with numerical inferiority from the 53rd minute and praises the team's defensive work: "We've done very well"

UD Almería head coach Gaizka Garitano, shared his post-game thoughts on the hard-fought point earned against Athletic Club de Bilbao and highlighted the hard work of his team: 'You have to look at the circumstances, we were playing reduced to 10 men and the team did well. They were class. They defended well, and we came closest to winning.'

The Basque Country native also stressed that throughout the season 'we competed quite effectively and we're always close to winning.' He highlighted the defensive performance of his team and especially of the new addition: 'With Radovanović, we,ve gained confidence defending in the area, he's helped us a lot and the players have defended very well. We don't concede many goals to the opponents, but it's difficult for us to score and we're always close to it, but we might be doing something wrong because we still don't win.'

The Bilbao-born takes about the number of chances that the team usually create in every game: 'We create plenty of chances, on the Deportivo Alavés Matchday, we created twice as many shots on goal; against Real Betis... the same... The team has a lot of attacking players and we're in the middle of the table in terms of chances created,' but highlighted that 'the problem this season is the areas.'
