Gaizka Garitano: 'Our work is not bringing its fair reward'
The UD Almería head coach assured at the post-Atlético press conference: 'We've competed very well against one of the best teams in Europe'
UD Almería head coach Gaizka Garitano shared his post match thoughts on the two-all draw with Atlético de Madrid: 'The team's performance is improving game after game, victory is not coming, but today we competed very well against one of the best teams in Europe. We must continue on the same path because we've improved loads. We aren't reaping a reward, we're always close, but we fail to win.
The Rojiblancos' gaffer also highlighted the surreal moment the team is going through: 'We're a very difficult bottom team to beat, since I've been there, apart from the first against Girona FC, we've competed in all of them and we've made things very complicated.'
The Bilbao-born coach also emphasised the good performance put in by his team: 'We're working hard but we still have a long way to go, because we still don't have enough to win.'
To conclude his post-match press conference, Mr Garitano praise Luka Romero, the match MVP who made the most of his first start with an incredible brace, the second goal being a scorcher: 'He's a very young boy who is going to help us a lot. He's been training very well since he arrived.'
