Gaizka Garitano: "It's not normal not to have won yet, it seems incredible'"

The UD Almería head coach regrets not achieving victory over the Sevillistas despite competing well and taking the lead and once again praises the devoted fans: 'I take my hat off to you all.'

'It's not normal to not have won yet, it seems incredible,' regretted UD Almería head coach Gaizka Garitano as he began his post-Sevilla press conference. Those words define the feeling that all the UD Almería fans have of not knowing what is going wrong this season as the team have not achieved a victory yet.

'Although the opponents we had were very strong, we played a great game. It's a shame, we've been close to achieving it once again,' the Basque Country native added.

The Rojiblancos' gaffer regretted not scoring another goal that would have given them peace of mind to face the final minutes: 'We didn't score the second goal and they pushed and equalised. We cannot make that mistake in Sevilla FC's first. My team played a good game, we went all out in the first half and in the second, in the minutes that led to their second goal. Everything seemed under control and that makes us even more angry.'

Despite not achieving victory, this team pluck up the courage against anyone and always makes things difficult for their adversaries, which is why the head coach stated: 'We're going into the competition with our heads held high, competing fiercely in every single game and always close to winning. We'll try to get that first victory, the team is alive,' he explained.

To bring his post-game press conference to an end, the Bilbao-born once again send a message to the UD Almería devoted fans: 'I'm not surprised by the 13,000 spectators in tonight's game. I take my hat off to you all, we're very grateful, you're teaching us a lesson. It's just incredible.'
