Gaizka Garitano: "It's a really tough result to take and doesn't reflect what was seen on the pitch"

The UD Almería head coach shared his post-match reaction: 'We attacked, created chances and controlled the game for long spells, however we lacked precision, despite taking 20 shots, 8 of them on goal'

UD Almería head coach Gaizka Garitano, despite the fact that he could not be in the dugout leading his team, sat down with the media after the game and highlighted: 'It's a really tough result to take, but it didn't reflect what was seen on the pitch. They've suffered, but they've been more effective.'

The Bilbao-born native also clarified: 'They took 3 shots whereas we took 20, 8 of them being shots on goal. Their goalkeeper was definitely the MVP. The match shouldn't have ended 0-3. The encounter was very atypical, because Deportivo Alavés haven't created dangerous situations beyond those specific actions.'

The Rojiblancos' gaffer also stressed: 'We've attacked, created chances and dominated the game for long spells, but we lacked precision while they didn't. Our mistakes at the back with Samu took their toll on us. We should've stopped him before.'

To conclude his post-Alavés press conference he made it clear: 'It's a screwed up situation and it's normal for the fans to leave the Stadium angry. It's a bad time for everyone.'
