Fernando goes back on his old ways in Zaragoza
The UD Almería first-team captain had not played so far in the current season and at La Romareda he replaced injured Maximiano, demonstrating his great qualities
Fernando Martínez was the only UD Almería first-team player who had not yet made his debut in an official match this season. The goalkeeper put on the gloves made last Sunday in Zaragoza. It was not an easy match at La Romareda stadium in light of the opponents' enormous potential, their fans' backing in this stadium and due to the situation in which the Rojiblancos arrived, placed in the drop zone.
The UD Almería first-team skipper could not do anything to avoid the equaliser grabbed by the Maños. It was a thumping header from Iván Azón within the small-box after a corner kick. Then, he did brilliantly between the sticks to avert danger at all times, highlighting an injury-time save that prevented the Rojiblancos from losing two points at La Romareda.
Now all the first-team members have had their opportunity to start and all of them will be necessary, especially in this stretch of the season in which there are mid-week LaLiga Hypermotion and Spanish Cup matches.
