César Montes: 'I'm very happy and excited about this UD Almería pre-season'

The Mexican joins the squad's training camp in Marbella and states: 'I have the opportunity to take part in a pre-season and I want to make the most of it to perform at my best.' He highlights summer signing Nico Melamed

'I'm very happy and excited about this UD Almería pre-season,' states the Mexican centre-back César Montes, who has joined the squad's boot camp in Marbella, where he is already training normally after his participation in Mexico in the Copa América. In fact, the footballer did not start training with his team-mates two weeks ago and has travelled directly to Málaga.

César Montes values being able to do a pre-season very positively and on that note, he explained: 'Due to the national team's international games I haven't done pre-seasons in recent years, but now I have the opportunity and I don't want to waste it to perform at my best.'

The UD Almería centre-back, who is preparing to complete his second season in red and white, stressed: 'I come with the utmost enthusiasm and ready to take revenge for what happened last season like the rest of my team-mates. We want to meet the new objectives.'

The 27-year-old player considers it essential to adapt 'to a high-level and very competitive tier.' He highlights the new concepts that a head coach like Rubi can contribute, who has already joined the team and kept it in the Primera Division, as well as the presence of Nico Melamed with whom he coincided at RCD Espanyol de Barcelona: 'He's spectacular as a person and as a player. It's a great addition. He's a footballer who is daring and who likes to have the ball.'
