Lázaro Vinicious: It's not how you start that's important, but how you finish

The Brazilian UD Almería left-winger speaks about the resumption of LaLiga EA Sports, his confidence in the team and his unpleasant experience in Morocco during the earthquake

UD Almería left-winger Lázaro Vinicious has just returned with his team-mate Kaiky from international duty with the Brazil under-23 squad and during that period, unfortunately, they had to experience the devastating earthquake that hit Morocco, although they were in Fez, 700 kilometres far away from the seismic epicentre.

'It was an unpleasant experience. We felt the tremors and had to flee our rooms feeling frightened. It's the first time I've experienced something like this. Everything was much more serious in Marrakech, but nothing can be done. We show our support for Morocco.'

Clubs have taken a step back from domestic action with their players jetting off across the world to compete for their national teams during September’s international break. On that subject, the 21-year-old explained: 'We have to believe in ourselves because we have a lot of quality in the squad. The thing is that many new players have joined the team and it takes time to adapt. This is normal. Anyway, my team-mates have been working well here at UD Almería. We've just came back from training with our national teams and I guess that the match against Villarreal CF may be the one that helps us start adding three points... and if we can't win, at least a achieve a draw.'

'All the matches in the Primera Division are really tough and now we're going to face a team with great players. It'll be complicated, but as I said, we have to believe in ourselves and our work,' he pointed out.

'We can't get nervous because that's when things don't work out. It's not how you start that's important, but how you finish,' Lazaro commented. Then, he reflected: 'We're playing well, although we still have things to improve, details that are vital such as making the most of the chances we create because if we don't, the rivals will kill you.'

Personally, the Brazil U23 international stressed: 'Since I arrived last season, I've grown up both as a player and as a person. My team-mates have helped me a lot, especially Rodrigo Ely, who I always talked to.'

Lázaro Vinicious also says that he has a lot to contribute to the team, but understands that there is a lot intra-squad competition. For this reason, the Belo Horizonte native indicated: 'I'm calm, I know what I can offer and the only thing that I can do is to work and be prepared to be able to take advantage of the opportunity as it happened last season.'
