Rubi: 'It's a worthy victory, but it's almost forgotten because we're playing on Thursday'

The UD Almería head coach gives value to the three massive points picked up at La Romareda stadium and at the same time, turns his attention to the Matchday 11 fixture against Albacete Balompié

UD Almería head coach Rubi was in good spirits and was satisfied with the encounter against the skilled team, highlighting: 'We've managed to make the team look very supportive, playing a great second half. Maybe, we needed to move forward in some game situations, but we worked a lot in the game against tough opponents. We're very happy because we also deserved something like this.'

The Catalan considered that the worst minutes for the Rojiblancos in the match were those after the opening goal: 'We did well again in the first half, which we hadn't done for a long time, but they immediately responded to our goal and that's when we had to suffer a little more. The team has given their all on the pitch and when this happens, you have a better chance of winning.'

The Rojiblancos' head coach does not want to gloat too much over the positive result due to the setbacks experienced in the last few matches: 'It's a worthy victory, but for me, it's almost forgotten because we're playing on Thursday. As UD Almería are used to offer different results, I'm happy with the joy of winning and the reward for the footballers, who have worked and have won a prize.'

Rubi concluded by speaking about the great performance put in by Fernando, who returned to the starting lineup due to Maximiano's absence: 'This is nothing new to us. He lifted the 'Zamora' Trophy two years ago. He's a great goalkeeper and an incredible person. He's always working hard, waiting for his opportunity. He's a player who feels the colours of the Club.'
