Pozo: 'The results price that the team is changing'
The UD Almería full-back talks about the improvement of the squad recognising that 'the victory over Elche CF has been enjoyed in a special way due to the context of the match'
UD Almería full-back Alejandro Pozo caught up with UDA Radio to review the current situation of the Indálicos, talk about the victory over Elche CF and look ahead to the next match against Deportivo de La Coruña. 'The results price that the team is changing. We had to find the key and I think we're doing it, even so, we cannot be overconfident because of what this tier is like,' pointed out the Sevillian.
The player spoke about UD Almería's main weakness, but recognises that there is room for progress: 'They've scored many goals in the first 15 minutes, both from set pieces and from plays, we must improve that. It's true that we started the league by having a good start to the games, although without scoring goals and now it's more difficult for us to start well in the games, but we did score. You can see that the team reacts and scores easily. These are things that can be corrected and I guess we're on time.'
The victory against the Elche CF on the last Matchday can be translated as a way of redeeming themselves due to the context of the match. 'It's especially enjoyed considering the difficult venue, the team dynamic in which Elche CF went into the game, as well as that of Zaragoza. They're complicated stadiums in which many teams are going to lose points. What happened on Friday was a blow because with one game in hand, we're 3 points away from the play off,' stated the full-back.
The 25-year-old was referring to the next match against Dépor ensuring: 'A good team is coming, with great players. It's going to be a nice match. I hope we can win and extend this good streak. We must be good defensively because up front they have incredible speed and if we don't concentrate they can hurt us.'
Finally, the Sevillian reflected on his evolution as a professional footballer and his position on the pitch: 'It's true that I've had to learn to defend in the elite because before I was a winger. There are more and more teams that play with attacking full-backs, football has changed a lot. I bet Rubi's style of play agrees with me. I hope I can get many more minutes between now and the end of the season to continue contributing.'
