Cristian Olivera will ply his trade for Los Angeles FC across the pond
The Uruguayan footballer has played in recent seasons on loan at Uruguayan clubs CA Peñarol and CA Boston River and now will compete in the MLS league (North American professional soccer)
UD Almería have reached an agreement with Cristian Olivera and the Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC, the highest tier of soccer in the United States, so that the 21-year-old Uruguayan striker becomes part of the Californian team.
In this way, Cristian Olivera will no longer play as a Rojiblanco even though he had his deal running until June 2025. The Uruguayan attacker joined UD Almería in the past 2020/21 season. Although he played some games, he was loaned out to get more minutes in his legs playing for other teams due to his young age. He was shipped out to CA Peñarol first, and later to CA Boston River; both clubs from Uruguay.
Last season, he put in outstanding performances in the latter with whom he played 38 league, Copa Libertadores and the Uruguayan Cup matches. He also registered 10 goals and gave 8 assists.
UD Almería highlight his professionalism and express their best wishes to Cristian Olivera as he sets for pastures new across the pond.
