Chumi honoured for 100 UD Almería appearances

UD Almería Managing Director Mohamed El Assy presented him with a framed shirt with the number 100 printed on the back to recognise his Rojiblanco career since he arrived in the Club in the past 2020/21 season

Juan Brandariz Movilla aka Chumi has been honoured by the Club after celebrating his centenary of matches as a Rojiblanco. He reached this number of fixtures in the previous match played at home against Sporting de Gijón, so it has now been, in the next appearance at the UD Almería Stadium, when he has been publicly recognised for his Rojiblanco career since he signed for the Club back in the 2020/21 campaign.

Chumi has now been at the Club for 5 seasons, which makes him one of the longest-serving members of the UD Almería squad. In that first 2020/21 campaign, in the second division, the Laracha native was lined up 16 times; 10 in the league, 2 in the promotion play-offs and 4 in the Spanish Cup. In 2021/22, the brilliant season of promotion to the top flight, he played a total of 27 games; 25 LaLiga EA Sports and 2 Spanish Cup ties. In the top tier of Spanish football, he has played 52 games between the 2022/23 (21) and 2023/24 (31) campaigns as well as three more Copa del Rey games.

In the current 2024/25 season, the 25-year-old featured in Tenerife and against Sporting de Gijón, which account for the 100 fixtures. The game played against CD Eldense was his 101st and the one just played against CD Castellón at the UD Almería Stadium his 102nd.
