Almería confirm two new friendlies as pre-season preparations continue

Atlético Pulpileño and Real Betis ‘B’ will also be summer rivals for the Rojiblancos before the league kicks off

The UD Almería players attended one more football practice this Tuesday morning with lots of ball work on a day in which two new summer friendlies have been confirmed. While the Rojiblancos host neighbours Atlético Pulpileño at the Anexo Juegos Mediterraneos on Saturday, 24 July (kick-off 7pm), they will close out their pre-season training camp taking on Real Betis ‘B’ at the Marbella Football Center on Sunday, 8 August.

After two days in which the squad members’ fitness was the main focus following the resumption of activity after the holidays, head coach Rubi has decided to turn his attention to ball work so that the footballers continue to gear up getting good vibes ahead of LaLiga SmartBank: series of ball touches, small-sided games and drills based on offensive and defensive transitions.

There have been a total of 25 players training on the Anexo fresh pitch including Petrović, Iván Martos, who participated in the evening session last Monday, as well as Almeria ‘B’  Aitor Puñal, who will join the first-team training sessions together with fellow youth players Raúl Caballero and Javi Robles. Nikola Maraš has been the only absentee as the Serbian defender has been in the medical room due to ankle discomfort.

With regard to the pre-season friendlies, UD Almería have confirmed two new rivals for summer’s action. First of all, head coach Rubi’s side will host neighbours Atlético Pulpileño, a team recently promoted to fourth tier Segunda Division RFEF on Saturday, 24 July (kick-off 7 pm Spain Time) in a friendly match that will be played at the Anexo Juegos Mediterraneos.

On the other hand, UD Almeria’s summer pre-season will come to an end facing Real Betis ‘B’ at the Marbella Football Center, a team who will be playing in third tier Primera Division RFEF next 2021/22 season. This appointment kick off is still to be confirmed.

UD Almería will have a break this evening before getting back to their training base on Wednesday for another double session (9 am and 7pm).
