6-0: UD Almería B start 2024 in style as they trounce FC Málaga City

The UDA Academy prospects cruised to a 4-0 lead at the break. Šviderský makes injury return as he started for 45 minutes. Loren grabbed a hat-trick. Huge step forward in their goal of fighting for promotion

UD Almería 'B' start 2024 putting in a stylish display as they trounced FC Málaga City in the  postponed Matchday 14 fixture within Group group IX of the Tercera RFEF. The youthful Rojiblancos outclassed their rivals. They were up 3-0 in the 15th minute and then cruises to a 4-0 lead at half-time to put the game to bed. 

Head coach Alberto Lasarte lined up Šviderský at the start, who made his injury return. The Slovakian midfielder was on the treatment table since April and he showed his great footballing skills with perfect passes and well-timed assists to open the scoring. The 21-year-old was replaced in the interval. UD Almería 'B' bossed the game since the off, with vertical football and an stoppable attacking display. After 15 minutes, they were in front 3-0 with a goal from Rachad and a brace from Loren, who scored his hat-trick shortly before half-time. 

The second half had more end-to-end activity. The boys from Málaga freshened things up to try to pull at least one or two back, and although they had some chances, both the Rojiblancos defenders and goalkeeper Bruno were very decisive, not giving his opponent a choice. Furthermore, from the 62nd minute, UD Almería 'B' were down to 10 men following the dismissal of Varó, who was shown his second yellow card. 

In the dying embers, the 'B' team players slammed in two more goals, one as a result of a strategic play and another at the end of a well-worked counter-attack. UD Almería 'B' thumped a hapless FC Málaga City (6-0) to and a huge step forward towards their promotion hopes. The team sits fifth within the play-off zone, with Real Jaén and Atlético Malagueño very close.

Referee: Manuel Polaino Redondo, from the Andalusian Referees Association. He sent off host Varó after a second yellow card, as well as the Rojiblancos assistant coach, Carlos García with a straight red card. In addition, he booked host Paco Sanz and visitors Nacho, Parra, Moslero and Amin. 

Goals: 1-0 (8'). Šviderský crosses and Loren, heads home. 2-0 (11'). Loren finishes off a quick move by Valen. 3-0 (15'). Valen wins the ball back, crosses in and Rachad beats the visitor goalie 4-0 (43'). Loren after an assistance from Aarón. 5-0 (82'). Paco Sanz scores a corner-kick taken by Keven. 6-0 (88'). Hugo Neves slots home a cross from Rachad after a counter-attack by UD Almería 'B'.

Observations: Matchday 14 fixture postponed within Group IX of Tercera RFEF. Game played in the Anexo Power Horse Stadium. 100 fans in the stands. First-team head coach Gaizka Garitano and his coaching staff were present at the match.
