6-0: 'Rock and Goal' at Emilio Campra Youth Stadium
UD Almería Women get the first three points of the season in the Tercera RFEF as they thumped Real Jaén Women 6-0
The UD Almería Women players needed to achieve a victory after trying and trying during the previous three match weeks. It was Matchday 4 when the Rojiblancas emerged victorious at last! They put on a show at home, and thus adding three points that make them take a giant step in the standings, abandoning the lower positions.
The match began in a completely favourable way for the Rojiblancas since after a few attempts, in the 9th minute, an play led by Jessi, on the right wing, caused the visitors to score the first in their own goal. Immediately afterwards, Carla had a one-on-one with the goalkeeper from Jaén, and the ball went just past the post.
The Indálicas were up 1-0 at half-time, so the goal fest had to wait until the second half, in which an authentic 'Rock and Goal' spectacle could be experienced. After the restart, Jessi, once again, participated in scoring the second goal for UD Almeria Women. She did it with an Olympic goal that pierced the visitors' goal, registering her first goal of the season. What a great way for the captain to start her goal tally!
Paqui, who returned after participating in different beach soccer competitions with the Spanish team, converted a penalty from 12 yards. Despite having completely controlled the match, the team was still hungry for a goal.
The next three goals would come in the last 15 minutes courtesy from Gisela, Carla and the icing on the cake came from Liubov, one of the signings made in the summer transfer window, who also got off the mark with her first goal as a Rojiblanca player.
Sweet first victory of the season, which places the Indálicas in the middle of the table. Next weekend, they will play at home again, hosting another of the rivals that have just landed in this division, Atlético Benamiel.
