2-1: UD Almería Women beat leaders after a great game

The Rojiblancas began taking the lead in the first play of the match with Carla's opener and although the rivals tied, in the second half Jessi would break the deadlock to make it 2-1. The Indálicas achieved their third consecutive victory

UD Almería Women have managed to beat the leaders as they achieved their third consecutive victory and defeated a team that had not lost or drawn since 5th November and rose to the top of the table. Nevertheless, today has been the day in which the opponents have not been able to extend their unbeaten streak and have found themselves against a great team that took the lead as soon as it began, with Carla's opener.

The visitors tied, but before the end of the first half, Adriana was awarded a straight red card and left Pozuelo de Alarcón down to ten girls. The Rojiblanas took advantage of this and in the second half, scored the final 2-1 thanks to Jessi's goal and thus achieving three vital points to forget about relegation.

UD Almería Women began the game knowing that they could not give anything away against the leaders and had to go all out from the first minute and so they did; As soon as the game kicked off, a good collective play ended with Carla going one-on-one in front of the goalkeeper, who she beat with a thumping shot that was impossible to stop.

Shortly after this goal, Fátima had another great opportunity to double their lead 2-0 although her shot was saved by the visiting goalie and on the rebound, Carla, from the edge of the box, sent the ball to the crossbar. They were the first few minutes of absolute dominance on the part of the Indálicas that could have led 3-0, in fact, the rivals head coach was already preparing a double substitution because he was not liking how they were playing, but in the end he would not make those changes since Pozuelo, in the first clear chance they had, managed to tie.

Despite the tie, UD Almería Women did not collapse and stayed afloat against rivals that were trying to turn around a match that shortly after the first half concluded, would become very complicated for them, since Adriana was shown a straight red card and left the Madrid women were reduced to 10.

UD Almería Women took advantage of this in the second half and with great skill, they managed to break the deadlock 2-1 in the 69th minute, thanks to a great play on the right wing by Carla that was completed by Jessi. The Rojiblancas knew how to defend the result until the end and thus achieving their third consecutive victory and three vital points to say goodbye to relegation.
