2-1: UD Almería 'B' record spectacular comeback to reach the top of table

The Rojiblancos went into half-time trailing 0-1, but came back three minutes into the second half to wrap up their fourth consecutive victory and move up to first place in the standings. Valen and Lorenzo scored the goals. Bruno Iribarne saved a penalty in the 81st minute that could have been 2-2 for CD Don Benito

UD Almería 'B' have become the new Group IV leaders of the Segunda RFEF, a tier in which they are making their debut this season. The UDA prospects had to overcome a 0-1 deficit with goals from Valen and Loren and then Bruno Iribarne saved a penalty, avoiding a 2-2. It is the fourth consecutive victory for Alberto Lasarte's side.

Things were very complicated for UD Almería 'B' in the first half because even though they had the ball more, they did not create danger. On the one hand, due to the good positioning and pressure of the rival, who left no space or play and on the other hand, due to their own errors, very imprecise with the ball at their feet. CD Don Benito were practical, very practical. They did a good job defensively to keep the youthful Indálicos at bay and knew how to make the most of this moment. In the 13th minute, they already warned off a corner, however Bruno Iribarne made a save to avoid the 0-1 lead. In the 29th minute, a poor built-up play by the hosts led to the visitors' opener courtesy from Borja Domingo.

The UDA Academy Rojiblancos with everything explained, did not have the capacity to react either, they seemed uncomfortable on the pitch and arrived at half-time finding themselves on the losing side.

UD Almería 'B' started the second half ready to turn the result around and they did it in just three minutes. As soon as this period kicked off, Alex Mendes kicked a thunderbolt from outside the box and the visiting goalkeeper excelled with a great stretch to reject the ball.

Nine minutes after the restart, in the 54th minute, Valen after making the wall with Peñalver inside the area, found the leveller, and shortly after, within 57 minutes, Lorenzo made it 2-1 after an assist from Valen, who had been key in this spectacular comeback. From there on, the 'B' team continued to command and have chances to have extended their lead, although they could not be careless against a CD Don Benito squad who did not give up. In fact, in the 81st minute, they had a penalty that was saved by Bruno Iribarne, thus avoiding the 2-2 and the Indálicos losing the top position they had in their hands.
